about
My Dad wrote this song in the 80s and recorded it to cassette. The cassette was lost for almost 20 years. So, I had to write and recall all the lyrics to recreate this song. Miraculously, my Mom found the tape last year! I wasn't too far off in remembering the song structure.
lyrics
I wish I could be, some place far away, where the people are plain and true
Where I could walk with, freedom and stride, without sarcastic salutes
You don't know me, you don't know me, you don't know me
I don't owe you a single thing, you don't own me, I'm so lonely
I wish I could be, a happy man, just knowing that I was free
Far from the stage, and the city lights, away from the cliquey scenes
You don't know me, you don't know me, you don't know me
I don't owe you a single thing, you don't own me, I'm so lonely
I wish I could fix, the tormented man, the one behind lock and key
Don't want to be, the people's choice, why can't they just let me be
You really don't know me, you don't know me, you don't know me
I don't owe you a single thing, you don't own me, I'm so lonely
You really don't know me, you don't know me, you don't know me
I don't owe you a single thing, you don't own me, I'm so lonely
I wish I could be, a happy man, just knowing that I was free

piano at 2-years-old. I later learned drums and eventually guitar. Then I started singing and songwriting in my teenage years.
Currently, I reside in Selkirk with loving wife and 2 children. I own and operate Pick This Production Recording Studio and enjoy sharing my music with all....more
